Cheap DIY Fluid Painting with Kids

If you have kids, boredom is a frequent occurrence. Even if you don't, you may still find this mini DIY project extremely satisfying. All it takes is 5 things, most of which I had already and a bit of mixing magic! I was inspired by this YouTube video I saw and was mesmerized by it! Now I have a new art piece for my newly renovated bedroom!

All you need are these 5 things:

  • Acrylic Paint - Pick a few colors, bigger bottles are better.

  • Dish Soap - Just your average Dawn will do.

  • Canvas - Any size, it's up to you. Make sure you have enough paint for coverage depending on the size.

  • Newspaper - Or something to work on because you will drip paint when you start to move it on the canvas

  • Popsicle sticks - Best stirring devices for this.

  1. Mix the water and dish soap (About 6 drops in water bottle)

  2. Use individual cups for each of the colors you want to use.

  3. Add a few drops of the water mixture to each color and stir.

  4. Use a new cup and start layering your color mixtures.

  5. Then get ready to pour!

You can either flip the cup over, tap the bottom and then release for a spread of color, or do as I did and pour over the top of the canvas and shake it until it covers.
